Theodore M. Khalili, MD, FACS, Gregg Kai Nishi, MD, FACS, and Eraj Basseri, MD, are board-certified general surgeons who make up the weight loss surgery team of Khalili Center for Bariatric Care. Dr. Khalili is the Founder and Director of Khalili Center for Bariatric Care and has performed more than 4,000 bariatric procedures. He was the first weight loss surgeon in the nation to successfully carry out a robotic-assisted gastric bypass. Dr. Nishi specializes in innovative and less invasive surgical techniques and has lectured on the topic extensively. He has appeared on "Good Morning America" and in the Los Angeles Times. Dr. Basseri brings a unique, holistic approach to weight loss surgery and is committed to safe and compassionate medical care, which he delivers to each patient.

Theodore M. Khalili, MD, FACS, received his undergraduate degree from California State University, Northridge, and his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he also underwent fellowship training in surgical critical care. Dr. Khalili is a pioneer in the field of minimally invasive bariatric surgery and helped start the weight loss surgery program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor in Surgery at UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine. Dr. Khalili has received a number of honors for his work as an educator and his accomplishments as a surgeon. He is affiliated with a number of professional societies, including the American College of Surgeons, the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the American Medical Association and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). Dr. Khalili has authored a number of research articles, which have been published in prestigious medical journals nationwide.
Gregg Kai Nishi, MD, FACS, obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine. He received his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Nishi completed his medical internship in the Department of Surgery at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY, where he was named resident of the year. He continued his clinical training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, including a Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care. Dr. Nishi is a former Assistant Director of the Cedars-Sinai Center and was one of the principal investigators of the FDA trials on a new procedure called TOGA (incision-less weight loss surgery). He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Nishi is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the American Medical Association and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
Eraj Basseri, MD, earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He completed fellowship training in less invasive weight loss surgery at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He has been honored with numerous awards for his clinical accomplishments and has published a number of articles pertaining to weight loss surgery. Dr. Basseri is affiliated with several professional associations, including the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
