Wade N. Barker, MD, FACS, is a board-certified, highly regarded weight loss surgeon who has been helping patients achieve dramatic weight loss results for more than 15 years. He is one of a select group of bariatric surgeons who perform both the LAP-BAND and Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass (Roux-en-Y) procedures. Dr. Barker is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has completed extensive clinical training sponsored by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He is the co-founder of the Forest Park Medical Center in Dallas, a full-service acute care hospital.

Wade N. Barker, MD, FACS, graduated magma cum laude from Eastern New Mexico University. He then completed his medical degree and residency at the Texas Tech University School of Medicine. Dr. Barker is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, the Dallas County Medical Association and the American Bariatric Society.
