As a premier bariatric surgeon in Long Island, Dr. Cussatti performs a wide range of minimally invasive weight loss procedures, including gastric bypass and Lap-Band surgery. The Lap-Band procedure is often performed via a single small (3cm) incision, leaving virtually no scars. Each procedure induces weight loss by reducing the capacity of the stomach, and thus the amount of food that can be consumed. These advanced bariatric surgery techniques allow Dr. Cussatti and his team to provide each patient with an effective treatment that will best fit their needs and lead to the most desired weight loss results. Dr. Cussatti performs all weight loss procedures at the prestigious Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center located on the south shore of Long Island. In addition to bariatric surgery, he also offers minimally invasive interventions for breast surgery, endocrine surgery, hernia surgery and gall bladder surgery.
To further assist his patients in achieving their desired weight, Dr. Cussatti provides each patient with a comprehensive weight loss program, which includes an in-depth group seminar and a multi-specialty evaluation as part of preoperative preparation. This crucial step allows Dr. Cussatti to ensure that the patient is physically and emotionally prepared to undergo weight loss surgery. Next, an individualized treatment plan is developed by Dr. Cussatti, in close partnership with the patient. Following surgery, Dr. Cussatti's weight loss program focuses on assisting the patient in reaching and maintaining his or her ideal weight through ongoing physical and emotional support.
