Sherman C. Smith, MD, FACS, completed his medical degree with honors at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He served his medical internship and residency at the Fitzsimons Army Medical Center. Dr. Smith is a retired Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves and served as a surgeon during Operation Desert Storm. He is a former Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Utah and is currently on staff at St. Mark's and LDS hospitals. Dr. Smith is a member of several professional organizations, including the Southwest Surgical Society, the American Medical Association, the Utah State Medical Association and the Salt Lake Surgical Society, where he formerly served as president.
Steven C. Simper, MD, FACS, received his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine. He served a general surgery residency at the Wilford Hall Medical Center in Texas and USAF San Antonio, where he was named top surgical intern. Dr. Simper is fellowship trained in non-cardiac thoracic and surgical critical care and vascular surgery. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Rodrick McKinlay, MD, FACS, earned his medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Following a residency at the University of Arizona, Dr. McKinlay began a minimally invasive surgery fellowship at the University of Kentucky and concluded the clinical portion of the training at the University of Maryland. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons.
