Chris Cobourn, MD, FRCS(C), completed specialized training in liver and pancreas surgery at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto and a surgical residency at the University of Toronto. An expert in Lap-Band surgery, Dr. Cobourn was one of the first surgeons to perform laparoscopic surgery in the Mississauga area. He holds hospital privileges at the Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga, where he formerly served as Chief of Surgery for ten years. He is a Co-Founder of the Surgical Weight Loss Centre and currently serves as Medical Director. Dr. Cobourn is a member of several medical organizations, including the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the Canadian Association of Bariatric Physicians and Surgeons, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Medical Association and the Ontario Association of General Surgeons.
David A. Mumford, MSc, MD, FRCS(C), completed a medical degree and surgical residency at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Following his residency, he received extensive training in laparoscopic surgery. He has completed advanced training in Lap-Band surgery and Gastric Balloon procedures. Dr. Mumford serves as the Chief of General Surgery at the Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga. Dr. Mumford is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, the Canadian Association of General Surgeons, the Ontario Association of General Surgeons and the Ontario Medical Association.
Frank Lista, MD, FRCS(C), completed a Doctor of Medicine degree and a surgical residency at the University of Toronto. He continued his education with a fellowship in reconstructive surgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Ontario. Dr. Lista was the Founding President of the Ontario Society of Plastic Surgeons and is a past President of the Canadian Society for Aesthetic (Cosmetic) Plastic Surgery. He was also the Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga. Currently, he serves as a Chairman of the Canadian Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities. In addition, he is one of the few plastic surgeons to be board-certified in the United States and Canada. Dr. Lista serves as the Medical Director and Founder of the Plastic Surgery Clinic, as well as the Facility Director of the Surgical Weight Loss Centre. He is a member of numerous medical organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Ontario Medical Association, the Canadian Medical Association and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. He also serves on the Strategic Planning Committee of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Planning Committee of the University of Toronto Aesthetic Symposium and the Independent Health Facility Task Force for Laparoscopic Gastric Banding.
Philip Mitchell, MD, FRCS(C), FACS, completed his premedical and medical degree at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, followed by a rotating internship in Ottawa and general surgical training at the University of Calgary. After establishing his practice in Calgary, he has continued to push the laparoscopic envelope by introducing advanced laparoscopic procedures to the Calgary area, such as the Lap-Band in 2005. Dr. Mitchell is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the Canadian Medical Association, the Alberta Medical Association, the Calgary Society of Surgeons and the Alberta Association of General Surgeons.
Emile Woo, B Sc (Pharm), MD, FRCS(C), FACS, graduated from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and completed his surgical residency at McMaster University. His practice includes gastrointestinal cancers with a special interest in stomach cancer as well as thyroid cancer. In addition to training future surgeons, Dr. Woo is one of the founding faculty members in the Biomedical Engineering Program at UBC. Dr. Woo is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the American College of Surgeons, the Canadian Medical Association, the British Columbia Medical Association and the Canadian Association of General Surgeons.
