Dr. Gonzalez performs the full spectrum of general surgery procedures as well as a range of weight loss surgeries, including gastric bypass surgery, sleeve gastrectomy (gastric sleeve surgery) and adjustable gastric banding with Lap Band or Realize Band. Whenever possible, Dr. Gonzalez uses the laparoscopic approach, a less invasive surgical technique that involves several small incisions and the use of a small camera. This approach encourages safer, smoother recovery with less tissue trauma and reduced risk of wound complications. Dr. Gonzalez also offers incisionless revision bariatric procedures such as StomaphyX, the ROSE procedure (restorative obesity surgery endoscopic) and incision-free EsophyX for treatment of acid reflux disease. More About Victor Gonzalez, MD, FACS

Victor Gonzalez, MD, FACS, obtained his medical degree at the University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City. He completed his surgical internship and residency at Texas Tech University Health and Science Center in El Paso. Dr. Gonzalez then moved to California, where he gained extensive experience in general surgery. He underwent fellowship training in laparoscopic bariatric surgery through a program accredited by the California Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery in Fresno. Dr. Gonzalez is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association and the Dallas County Medical Society.
